Welcome to Scouts BSA Troop 10—Yardley, PA, on behalf of myself, our Assistant Scoutmasters, a host of other generous volunteers, and the scouts themselves. We are a troop with over 100 years of rich tradition, made possible by the energetic scout spirit of our boys and the support of adult leaders and volunteers.
Please browse the site to get a feel for Troop 10. I encourage interested boys and their parents to talk to those whom you might know in the troop. There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us.
I welcome you to contact me to discuss membership for your future Boy Scout. In the meantime, scan through the information below to view some of the highlights of the Scouts BSA program at Troop 10.
Yours in Scouting,
Steve Daniel

The scouting program offers a unique opportunity for our boys to grow through developing skills, leading others, and serving the community. Activities over their years of involvement include these primary Aims of Scouting:
“Empowering boys to be leaders is the core of Scouting. Scouts learn by doing, and what they do is lead their patrols and their troop. The boys themselves develop a troop program, then take responsibility for figuring out how they will achieve the goals. One of our most important challenges is to train boy leaders to run the troop by providing direction, coaching and support. The boys will make mistakes now and then and will rely upon the adult leaders to guide them. But only through real hands-on experience as leaders can boys learn to lead.”
- Scoutmaster Handbook
The Trail to First Class program lays the foundation for the early stages of becoming a Scout. Scout Guides along with adult leaders shepherd new scouts through an impressive program where they gain skills and confidence in the Scouting way of life.
A year in Troop 10 offers the opportunity to camp every month and attend a week at summer camp, as well as enjoying local day trips and outings. Older scouts enjoy summer high adventure trips in the mountains or paddling on the ocean and along rivers and lakes. A dozen boys plus three adult leaders typically go every other year to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico to spend ten days of backpacking and fun activities at base camps.
Service is a core part of scouting, beginning with an hour here and there as a Newbie scout. Service increases as they advance. Examples include keeping our section of Afton Avenue clean, volunteering at Aid for Friends, cleaning up at 5 Mile Woods, and serving their community of worship. The Eagle Scout project is the ultimate form of scout service, culminating in dozens of hours of boy-led effort on a project benefiting our community.
Each step along our scouts' advancement journey involves learning and developing new skills, growing through leadership positions, and expanding limits of their potential. Earning ranks and numerous merit badges provides a great sense of accomplishment and pride for the scouts and parents alike.
